Tiny celebrates 96th birthday

The couple still has the ‘brand new’ shirt they bought 62 years ago.

Deopr Caring Facility Management and residents celebrated Tiny Pretorius’ 96th birthday on July 28.

Among the residents present was also his wife, Hettie Pretorius.

They got married on November 5, 1949, more than 72 years ago. Hettie has a shirt, still tucked in plastic, which Tiny bought 62 years ago, to be specific on February 13, 1960, and he promised her he will wear it on his 100th birthday.
