WATCH: QueIsFit successfully hosted fitness boot camp at Decathlon

Sinqobile Zondi successfully hosted an incorporate boot camp at Decathlon in Alberton with more than 40% of attendees from his previous boot camps.

QueIsFit proudly hosted its monthly boot camp at Decathlon in Alberton on May 28.

The boot camp is aimed at uplifting and empowering the community through fitness while allowing the community at large to socialise and get to interact through different exercises.

Various exercises were conducted, which included calf raises, small hops, squat jacks, sprinter lunges, standing toe touches, shoulder rotations and boxing combinations.

These are resistance or strength training exercises, which serve as a great way to increase strength and stamina and help one to less likely to develop osteoporosis and age-related diseases.

Osteoporosis is a medical disorder in which the bones become brittle and fragile due to tissue loss, usually due to hormonal changes or a calcium or vitamin D shortage.

According to the founder of QueIsFit, Sonqobile Zondi, this was the third successful boot camp he and his co-partner, Ripfumelo Mathye, hosted under the theme of ‘community before fitness’.

“Boot camps have taught me an important life lesson, which is to always give back to the community in any way you can. Changing lives is an essential gift of life because you align people with their visions to achieve their long craved goals,” said Mathye.

Both partners of QueIsFit were happy with the attendance and participation of everyone who participated.

Six teenagers attended the boot camp and here is what they had to say:

Legend Mnisi.

Legend Mnisi: I enjoy what I do because it gives me time to socialise with my peers positively and it helps me to build my body at a young age.

Tshepo Mokoena.

Tshepo Mokoena: Our mentors, Sinqobile and Ripfumelo, help us a lot because they teach us about the importance of eating nutritious food and sticking to a healthy diet.

Nkosinathi Ngema.

Nkosinathi Ngema: I find the exercises fun. They are so easy that I even do them at home and sometimes teach my friends at school.

Bontle Tsiane.

Bontle Tsiane: At school, we are taught about the importance of developing your body. I love playing soccer, so these boot camps help me.

Christano Molese.

Christano Molese: Ever since I joined these sessions, I am no longer interested in playing other games that are not sport-related.

Banele Ngema.

Banele Ngema: I joined because my brother joined the fitness gym. Now I am the one who enjoys the benefits of boot camps more than my brother.
