Two people killed, 15 injured in a collision
Motorists are advised to be careful in these wet weather conditions.
A man and a woman were killed and 15 others were left injured following a collision between a taxi and bakkie on the Golden Highway in Naturena on April 9.
Ineke van Huyssteen from ER24 said when their paramedics arrived at the scene at about 14:30, they found a taxi lying on its side off the roadway and a bakkie across the middle barrier of the roadway.
“Upon further assessment, two people were found with fatal injuries and were declared dead at the scene by paramedics. Fifteen others were found to have sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate,” explained Ineke.
ER24 paramedics, along with various other medical services, treated the patients at the scene before transporting them to hospital for further medical care.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known, but local authorities were in attendance.
