Ward 124 councillor maintains Booysens Police Station

Ward 124 councillor Mongameli Myameni visited Booysens SAPS to conduct a clean-up operation around the station.

After being concerned with the overgrown grass, Ward 124 councillor Mongameli Myameni took it upon himself to conduct a clean-up operation at Booysens SAPS.

On February 19, Myameni spearheaded the campaign, yet the rainy weather interrupted their work.

“We want to make sure the station is well maintained. If an eye is not kept on the environment, then illegal dumping can be the result,” Myameni said.

According to the councillor, overgrown grass provides a hiding place for criminals.

He told the COURIER since the year began, he has also adopted Forest High School as part of his many projects to help bring change at the school.

“I made it a point that the school becomes part of my project for the year. I then assisted with painting the school and cutting the grass. This is so that parents at the school see their children are studying in a safe and clean school,” said Myameni.

He reiterated he will be joining hands with various stakeholders in maintaining and promoting the community to attract potential businesses.
