Angels on my way

I relocated from another province in January this year at the age of 71. Single, lonely and used to a rural area, Gauteng came as a major adjustment to me.

Apart from bringing my clothes and a few personal belongings, I was quite traumatised.

Although still adjusting, someone is looking after me. After I applied to go and live in a five-star retirement village with a long waiting list, I was accepted within one month after applying. I am partly being sponsored by the Life Right residence, which is a ‘wow’ to me.

Here I met two ‘angels’ on my way.

The first angel is a handywoman. Everything a handyman can do, she can equal or better. She helped me settle in with various tasks in my room, showed me around and enlightened me on all the activities in the village.

What a privilege and how grateful I am.

After I suspected my nose cancer re-occurred after 16 months, angel number two stepped forward.

After my first and lonesome visit to a state specialist not to close by, I returned ‘home’ all shook up. When she asked me how things were going after the hospital visit, I started crying.

The angel in her, hidden by flesh, stepped forward. For my next visit, this time to a plastic surgeon, she not only arranged private transport there and back, but insisted on going with me, also in the future.

She assured me that she would be there for me all the way.

With this angel by my side, my second visit to the hospital today was almost a pleasure. The date for the excision of the nose cancer and skin graft, have been made. She will once again be there for me.

There are still ‘mother Teresas’ around, and I am so grateful.

I trust angels will keep on stepping to the forefront in Gauteng. We truly appreciate you!

May there also be angels for you when you need them and may you be there for them also.
