Forty years ago the world was made aware of a pandemic that was soon to spread like wildfire globally – HIV/Aids.
Due to the loss of numerous lives worldwide, December 1 was made World Aids Day to honour, remember and celebrate those lost so unnecessarily.
ARVs have made the world of difference to those infected and there is now ‘life’; however, there is a need to pay homage, remember and celebrate the lives of activists, such as Nkosi Johnson and many others who fought for and made the difference between death and life.
