Taxi rollover leaves 17 injured

Seventeen people were injured, two critically, when a taxi rolled on the R59 near the Swartkoppies off-ramp in Alberton this morning (November 2).

ER24 and other services arrived at 09:00 to find a taxi upright in the centre median. All the passengers were found lying around the vehicle.

Medics assessed the patients and found that two people were in a critical condition while 15 others had sustained minor to serious injuries. Fortunately, no fatalities were found.

The patients were treated, and the seriously and critically injured were provided with advanced life-support interventions before they were transported to nearby hospitals for urgent care.

The details surrounding this incident are unknown, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
