Booysens SAPS thank their Constables for the arrest of the pair.

Members from Vispol at Booysens SAPS were patrolling in Crown Gardens on October 27 in the afternoon when they were approached by an unknown person who informed them about a suspect selling dagga.

The members approached the said person who was sitting in a vehicle and they introduced themselves. They searched the vehicle.

The suspect was asked to get out of the vehicle so that he could also be searched. One of the members noticed a firearm on the suspect waist. Then they further searched the suspect, they found a magazine in the suspect’s pocket.

Booysens SAPS communication officer Capt Lorraine van Emmerik said the suspect was interviewed and he said that he was staying in Crosby. Officers went to the residential address.

“At the residential address, the members found a large quantity of drugs and other ammunition that could not be explained. The suspect was placed under arrest for possession of drugs and an unlicensed firearm.

“The SAPS members were then approached by the suspect’s son who offered them money not to arrest his father. He was arrested for bribery.

Cst Kenneth Mochena, Cst Rivalani Nhlangwana, Cst Collins Mtarine, Cst Norman Mnumzana, Cst Christopher Leukis and Cst Mandla Ngubane,” she said.
