It is time to tee off for Alberton High

Alberton High will be hosting a golf day on September 3 at Germiston Golf Club.

As in 2020, the day will be different from previous annual golf days due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the regulations with which everyone needs to comply.

“Despite the financial strain everybody is facing during this time, Alberton High is still striving to keep to our motto as a School of Excellence,” said Mr JS Olivier, the principal.

“To do so, we have decided to focus on the fourth industrial revolution skills development by offering robotics, hospitality, as well as agricultural studies and agricultural technology from January 2022.

“The golf day will be a fund-raising event where all funds will go towards building a computer lab, hospitality venue and workshop for agricultural studies. Help us to maintain our high standard of service to our learners, parents and community by participating in our golf day.”

Businesses and individuals are invited to support this fund-raiser.

Due to the Covid-19 regulations, there will be no gathering for prize-giving and supper since there will be more than 50 guests.

You will receive a halfway house voucher as part of the entry fee to make up for supper to some extent.

The entry fee will be the same as 2020, R300 per person or R1 200 per fourball. The aim of the day, apart from being a fund-raiser, is for all to enjoy the outdoors, build relationships and for general social interaction.

Everybody will receive a handout, but prizes will be limited due to financial constraints – bring your A-game anyway.

The format of the day will be a betterball Stableford and there will also be the opportunity for sponsors to advertise their business in the following ways: tee, green, halfway house and prizes.

Sponsors may exhibit posters or banners and provide non-alcoholic refreshments at the hole of their choice.
“Sponsors’ names will also appear prominently on our programme for the day.

“All payments must please be made into the school account by August 30 as the club has requested that we limit the handling of cash on the premises.”

If you would like to book a golf cart, please book directly through the Pro-Shop 011 827 7818 @ R310 per cart. Should there not be enough golf carts, carts will be sourced from other institutions at a cost of R350.
