Eskom Kusile matter postponed due to council’s withdrawal

The matter will be continued on August 19.

The Eskom Kusile R745-million case has been postponed to August 19 in the Palm Ridge Specialised Financial Crime Court.

The matter was postponed on July 20 to allow time for former Eskom contracts manager France Hlakudi to find a new lawyer after a second attorney withdrew from the case for financial reasons.

Other accused in the matter are former Eskom group executive for group capital division Abram Masango, businessman Maphoko Kgomoeswana and CEO of Tubular Construction Antonio Trindade, who was an Eskom service provider.

Seven other companies have also been accused.

The accused face charges of fraud, corruption and money laundering. These charges are in connection to a contract for the Mpumalanga Kusile Power Station.
