Five years imprisonment for motor vehicle theft in Mondeor

Two men found guilty by the JHB Magistrate's Court and sentenced to five years direct imprisonment for a charge of Theft Motor vehicle.

Itumeleng Sesoko Mokone and Menelisi Nkosi were found guilty by the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court and sentenced to five years direct imprisonment for a charge of motor vehicle theft.

Their conviction emanates from the incident that took place on February 8, 2017, during which a white Kia truck was stolen while it was parked at Swaartgoud Street in Mondeor.

The vehicle was found in Soweto while the two suspects were busy stripping it.

Mokone was granted bail of which he absconded and was later arrested.

Mondeor SAPS station commander applauded the efforts of investigating officer Warrant Officer Lebese who pursued the case with diligence.
