One dead as truck collides with bakkie on R59 South in Kliprivier
The passenger of the bakkie sustained no injuries, nor did the two occupants of the truck.
Shortly before 2.30 pm on February 24, an ER24 paramedic came across an accident scene on the R59 South in Kliprivier, where he found a truck and a bakkie with a trailer collided.
“Upon further assessment, he found the driver of the bakkie lying a few metres away from the bakkie in the road and showing no signs of life. The passenger of the bakkie sustained no injuries, nor did the two occupants of the truck,” said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.
“The fatally injured man was declared dead at the scene by paramedics”
Meiring said the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not known to paramedics, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
