Family of three last seen in Alberton

Odendaalsrus police appeal to anyone with information about the whereabouts of Victor Bosman, Charlene Lombard, and Jay Lombard to contact detective WO Maria de Wet on 073 200 2739.

Odendaalsrus police are searching for a missing couple and their five-year-old son.

Victor Bosman (55), Charlene Lombard (27), and their son, Jay Lombard (5), were last heard from on January 22 when they allegedly called from Alberton to ask some relatives and friends for money to buy food.

According to information received by the police, on January 18 Bosman, Lombard and her son left Odendaalsrus at about 5am, hitchhiking to Secunda for a possible job opportunity for Bosman.

They arrived in Secunda on January 21, where the family slept over at a friend’s place.

On January 22 they were last seen when the same friend took them to the taxi rank so they could catch a taxi back to Odendaalsrus. Later that day the friend received a phone call from Bosman requesting money for food. Bosman told his friend they were in Alberton.

Money was deposited into Bosman’s bank account hours later. The family has not been heard from nor seen since and they cannot be reached on their cellphones.

Concerned family members opened a missing person’s file at Odendaalsrus SAPS for further investigation.
