GALLERY: Raising funds through art for Jackson informal settlement

Raising funds for Jackson Shalam of Jackson informal settlement.

Tracy le Roux and Alice Events hosted an art event at Al Abar Al Senor on November 21 in aid of projects in Jackson informal settlement.

The event was an art in the park event where artist Shani Krebs taught women how to do art and shared his story.

“We also had pop-up stores, which was a trial for a bigger market day, and most beautiful items were sold,” said le Roux.

“Thank you Teddy for a delicious coffee on the day and Doppio Bassonia for the amazing food.”

Le Roux also gave thanks to all the women who supported the event.

“Without your support we are unable to fund the projects in Jackson. We are putting up a home in Jackson for the gender-based violence programme and the funds raised will go towards the home. This home will be a healing, counselling and overnight home for victims.”

She said people must stay posted for upcoming events as Alice Events will continue to support Shalam Jackson.

For any further information or enquiries contact le Roux on 082 931 7452.
