OSTI donates to Abraham Kriel Bambani

On November 17, the ombudsman for short-term insurance (OSTI) continued in carrying out its mandate of providing assistance where it is needed most.

OSTI has donated essential goods to registered NPO Abraham Kriel Bambanani.

The NPO provides care and skills development for traumatised children and youth in need. In response to the pandemic, OTSI revised its corporate social initiatives for the year to reach out to charities that care for children.
This is to support these organisations during this challenging time.

“Annually, OSTI plans its CSI initiatives to uplift communities most in need. This year, we amended our plan to support new local orphanages, to provide them with necessities and PPE,” said OSTI project coordinator Marilize Blignaut.

At the handover on November 13, OSTI donated 10 boxes of facial tissues, 10 packs of baby wipes, five litres of bottle steriliser.

They also donated 15 packs of nappies, 10 bottles of body wash, 10 tubs of nappy cream, 20 packs of toilet paper, 60 packs of sanitary towels, 10 tubs of aqueous cream and 20 tubes of toothpaste.

A further 10 packs of bin liners, five bags of washing powder, 10 packs of laundry bar soap, 10 litre of hand sanitiser, 30 bath towels and face cloths and 10 mattress protectors were donated.

Ernesta Teessen, manager of the Abraham Kriel Bambanani Maria Kloppers house, said they were extremely grateful for the donation. “We care for about 200 children, from birth to 18 years of age, where they have been removed from their homes and placed in our care.

“We also provide support for 600-plus children in the same age bracket in the communities of Soweto and Westbury,” said Teessen.

“OSTI is committed to making a difference where we can and are delighted to have been able to help Abraham Kriel Bambanani to enable them to provide such worthwhile support to so many people,” Blignaut concluded.
