Mondeor SAPS recovered firearms and ammunition

Owners of illegal firearms and unwanted firearms and ammunition and parts thereof are reminded to take advantage of the firearm amnesty period that will end on January 3.

Two suspects were arrested during an intelligent-driven operation.

On November 6, police recovered the unlicensed firearms in Eikenhof believed to have been used during the commission of serious and violent crimes in the Mondeor policing area.

The firearms had their serial numbers filed off. These firearms will be sent for ballistic testing to establish whether or not they were used in other crimes.

Management of Mondeor SAPS would like to thank the community members who continue to work closely with the police to expose criminals, particularly those who use illegal firearms.
