WATCH: The People’s Dialogue, new political party on the horizon

The People’s Dialogue founder is the former City of Johannesburg mayor, Herman Mashaba, and Funzi, who is a former MMC for Finance.

The People’s Dialogue held its first meeting in South Hills on July 25 to discuss their policy, ward representation and launching of a new political party among other things.

Funzi Ngobeni, operational director of People’s Dialogue, was the main speaker on the day. He said the new party will be launched on August 29.

“Our policies are being drafted, we are almost ready as we are speaking to few experts. We are finalising membership system. “We have volunteers whom we hope will be members of the new party. Volunteers and members are not the same because once you become a member you need to abide by the constitution of the organisation.

“The launch will be done digitally to avoid contact. The name, logo, constitution and colours of the party will be unveiled on the day. It will be an exciting name. It will be a party of action which puts South Africa first. “We are forming structures across the country and we are targeting certain metros; however, we will be guided by resources that we have. People want to join as they want change,” explained Funzi.

He said the new party will be guided mainly with these five co-values:

• Non-racialism to build a united society where every South African is treated with dignity and respect.
• Economic prosperity for all where free market economy will thrive.
• Social justice for those who still live under the legacy of the past
• Respect for the rule of law which ensures consequences for all crimes
• Electoral reform that gives back the power to the people to elect their candidate.
