750 Amped set out to create awareness about Covid-19

“We understand simultaneously alleviating panic, combating stigma, misinformation and disinformation around Covid-19 particularly among socially vulnerable communities, and areas with high-transmission potential.”

Members of 750 Amped team is a group of proactive thinkers who intervenes and give power to youth to inspire changes.

Their efforts can also be seen with their latest outreach in areas where awareness and more information about Covid-19 is vital.

By doing so, they train the youth to make them aware of their social behaviour.

Emmanuel Bonoko who is part of the initiative said, “We understand that we simultaneously have to alleviate panic, combat the stigma that goes with Covid-19, and that we must rectify misinformation and disinformation around Covid-19, particularly among socially vulnerable communities, and areas with high-transmission potential.”

Seven is for fighting the coronavirus seven days of the week with five being the five basic protective measures to fight the coronavirus and the zero brings you to zero infections.

“Trained field agents will be officially deployed to the identified communities to educate the community about the Covid-19 pandemic,” Bonoko said.

“This programme will run for six months until October. We will also unveil a website and App and bring technology as part of solution towards the journey to zero infections,” he said.

The national campaign specifically targets the socially vulnerable South African communities through providing education and awareness around Covid-19.

The campaign will also provide an integrated research approach to add value and effectiveness of the proposed intervention.
