Food for the homeless, communities in need during lockdown

“It gives me great pleasure to see the partnership in this initiative, having their support makes our job easier and I am also grateful for their support,” Councillor Wissler.

With the assistance of some good Samaritans, the needy in the south of Johannesburg are still getting much-needed food parcels.

Councilllor Sarah Wissler, with the help and sponsorship of Targett in the South area, gave out food to the homeless and communities in need.

“We have donated a lot of food parcels that we distributed with the help of Pick n Pay Mulbarton. Ricky’s Chicken has also donated half a ton of chicken, and Mario’s Meat Warehouse has donated 450 kilos of chicken,” she said.

Wissler added that the purpose is to take care of the communities during lockdown.

“We are going through tough times in most communities and I believe this could be the best we could do. We have to stay positive, keep our heads up and show support to the people who need us,” she said.
