Friday, March 27, Brackendowns SAPS members arrested a Ward 53 Councillor of Thokoza for Contravening Disaster Management Act for non-compliance.
According to Brackendowns SAPS, The Councillor held a public meeting with the large group of community members and also instigated community members to March to Alberton City council to demand electricity.
While walking towards Alberton city council, they were stopped by Brakendowns SAPS members and a large group of community members disperse towards different directions and a 35-year-old male was arrested and identified himself as Mziyanda Mketsu Ward 53 Councilor of Thokoza.
Another incident, Gauteng Traffic Police arrested nine (9 ) people for non-compliance under the disaster management Act. also driving an unroadworthy motor vehicle.
All arrested suspects were detained at Brackendowns SAPS and will appear at Palm Ridge Magistrate Court.
