Rietvlei Zoo Farm has put various measures in place to maintain a clean and healthy environment in their facilities.

This follows the official order from Pres Cyril Ramaphosa on March 15.

The large events of 100 or more people have been cancelled or postponed until further notice.

The priority is to comply with this directive, but also to maintain the continuity of the support.

Keeping the public and their staff safe is a top priority, so they want to share the steps Rietvlei Zoo Farm is taking in response to Covid-19.

Various measures are in place to maintain a clean and healthy environment in their facilities:

• A number of cleaning staff to increase the frequency with which they wipe down high touch point surfaces;

• Providing hand sanitisers or soap at the high touch point areas and ablutions points; and

• Intensifying staff awareness of personal preventative measures to protect their health.

We urgently advise you to do the following:

• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

• Practice good hygiene by washing hands regularly.

• Wash your hands with a good soap or disinfectant for at least 20 seconds.

• Stay home when you are sick.

• Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing by using elbow or tissue.

• Avoid touching of mouth, nose or eyes.
