Johannesburg Flying Squad and Hawks team up to apprehend four suspects.

A joint operation between Johannesburg Flying Squad and Hawks resulted in the arrest of four suspects.

The suspects were arrested for being found in possession of a robbed truck and trailer, and possession of stolen property on January 16.

According to JHB Flying Squad communications officer Capt Raymond Sambo, the members were following up on information of suspects who stole two containers in City Deep.

“They proceeded to Alrode South in Alberton where two containers with goods to the value of R3-million, a Peterbilt truck and trailer and a gold Hilux bakkie, used in the commission of the crime, were recovered.

“Four suspects were subsequently placed under arrest and detained at Alberton SAPS.

“The bakkie and truck were taken to Van Ryn SAP 13,” said Sambo.

The public is encouraged to continue assisting the police by reporting any criminal activities taking place.

When reporting, people can call 08600 10111 or call the nearest police station.

The suspects are expected to appear in Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
