WATCH: St Benedicts Grade 12 learner gets nine distinctions

Julio Martins bagged nine distinctions, is in top 1% nationally for IT and physical science and has a 90.1% average.

A BRIGHT future awaits Suideroord’s Julio Martins, who passed his matric with no less than nine distinctions.

This top achiever, who attended St Benedicts, is all smiles and ecstatic with his results, the fruit of much hard work and dedication.

Martins is also in the top 1% nationally for IT and physical science and has a 90.1% average.

Not just an academic, he received the Bishop Orsmond Shield, also called the Bennies Boy Award, in 2019, and was recognised as a learner who embodies the values of a Bennies Boy: integrity, discipline, charity and passion.

Martins joined St Benedict’s in Grade Eight and said he will always be indebted to the school.

“I learnt team work, time management and developed a work ethic that enabled me to put my head down and work through anything tough.

“I encourage those working towards their finals in 2020 not to give up when faced with a problem; work hard to solve it.”

Martins will be studying computer science either at TUKS or an American university.

St Benedict’s has achieved a 100% pass rate for the past 45 years and is celebrating the excellent results of the class of 2019.
