General Alberts Park pensioner suffers massive heart attack, dies

George Enslin (80), who had been keeping a piece of municipal veld in General Alberts Park in pristine condition, sadly lost his life on October 16 from a heart attack.

GEORGE Enslin (80), who had been keeping a piece of municipal veld in General Alberts Park in pristine condition, sadly died on October 16 from a heart attack.

The pensioner, who resided in General Alberts Park used his time, equipment and money to make sure the veld was in its original good state. At his age, he voluntarily did this for four years where he mowed the lawn and planted flowers in the veld.

The humble 80-year-old’s memorial service will take place on October 22 at 2pm at Bassonia Seventh-day Adventist Church.

George Enslin’s son, George, said: “My father sadly died on Wednesday in the Flora Clinic after suffering a massive heart attack on Tuesday night.

“He will be sorely missed by many as he was a well-known and loved man in various parts of the community.”
