Boots for Africa appeals for donations to help children in need

BOOTS for Africa will facilitate a drop-off zone at the Alberton Football Club’s prize-giving day on October 19, between 9am to 1pm.

Members of the local community are encouraged to donate their old football or rugby boots to help children in need in poverty-stricken parts of South Africa.

Those interested in donating for a good cause can also contribute sport equipment such as shin pads, balls and any other equipment to assist the youth of South Africa.

This drive also aims to help build communities and social understanding through the power of the game.

By donating your old boots, balls and equipment you can help change a young person’s outlook on life.

About Boots for Africa

Through sport, Boots for Africa helps to nurture, empower and transform lives.

Boots for Africa is an organisation that collects pre–loved boots and distributes them to children and young adults across South Africa.

One of their main goals is to make sport more accessible to young people in developing communities.

Alberton Football Club encourages all members of the local football and rugby community, especially those attending the annual prize-giving day, to take part.

Clubs, coaches or individuals who may be interested in learning more about Boots for Africa and how they can contribute, can contact Gavin Hendry on 082 457 0671 or visit their Facebook page.
