Celebrate your pets with the Animal Anti-Cruelty League
Pet food donations will be welcomed.
FOR many years it has been a custom at Animal Anti-Cruelty League Johannesburg (AACL JHB) that in remembrance of St Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures, animals are welcomed to a special ceremony on the first Sunday of October annually.
This year to celebrate and recognise the special role animals play in our lives, the AACL JHB’s “Blessing of the Animals” ceremony will take place at Rietvlei Zoo farm on October 6. Blessing of the Animals will be from 8am to 10am at the Picnic Dam. Entrance will be R100 payable at the gate and will include access to the walking trails thereafter.
“The public is invited to join us and bring along their two and four-legged pets for this special ceremony! Pet celebrities, Adam from Frank and Fearless Fame and Joy Dogs will be there, with great prizes for the best dressed animals,” said Carren Nickloes, marketing manager for AACL JHB.
AACL JHB asks that all animals be kept on a leash or harness or in a carry crate/cage as appropriate for the ceremony.
Pet food donations will be welcomed.
