Six learners caught red-handed smoking dagga at Diversity High School premises

SIX learners have found themselves in hot water for smoking dagga on school premises.

This comes after Diversity High School principal caught them red-handed at one of the hot spots inside the school on September 11.

According to principal Hosea Maboya, he was doing his daily duties, checking for learners who are bunking and loitering when he noticed six learners who were supposed to be in class.

“We had to strategise in order to catch them. They attempted to run away, but we knew their names which made it easy for us to capture them,” said Maboya.

After being captured, the learners were taken to Maboya’s office and it’s claimed they were smelling of dagga.

Moffat View SAPS was alerted about the matter and they rushed to the school.

The SAPS officers interrogated the learners to the point which they revealed who supplies them with the dagga.

The SAPS hunted the suspect and after finding him he was detained for a few hours; the learners are facing a disciplinary hearing.

The supplier is a resident of South Hills.

The COURIER was told by Maboya the parents of the six learners will be called to the school.
