COTLANDS held its 75th ordinary annual general meeting at Rise Against Hunger (RAH), 12 Pryce-Rosser Road, Prolecon, on August 27.

RAH is Cotlands’ valued partner as they regularly provide food for them to feed the children.

RAH is an international hunger relief organisation that distributes food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable, mobilising the necessary resources to end hunger by 2030.

In his report, Cotlands chairperson Dumisani Ncala said he has seen the governance of the board grow from strength to strength with newly appointed members bringing their experience and expertise.

He also mentioned the amendment of their constitution.

“The amended constitution clearly outlines the mandate of each committee, which impacts the respective agendas of the three sub-committees.

“Also, to every Cotlands’ employee, the board wishes to thank you for the manner in which you serve every beneficiary and the professionalism with which you interact with investors and partners. Your daily conduct is a testimony to your ongoing loyalty to the cause,” he said.

Dr Monica Stach, CEO of Cotlands, was pleased with the number of beneficiaries they have reached.

“Our projects team successfully delivered 16 projects on time and within budget. In keeping with our core business of providing access to play-based early learning opportunities, the Play Every Day project was a proud accomplishment.

“Despite continued economic and political turmoil, our business development team will strive to nurture our existing donors while finding ways to expand our donor base, with the support of our newly appointed marketing and communication managers.

“Our finance team will continuously find ways to minimise expenses while our human resources department recruits and retains the required competences for us to deliver on our strategy,” she said.

Motseki Majake, treasurer at Cotlands, said operational costs within Cotlands remain well controlled and within budget.

After all the formalities, all the attendees joined in and packed about 4 000 food parcels for RAH.
