Celebrating womanhood at Rietvlei Zoo Farm

In support of National Women’s Day, Cosmic Haven presents a Women’s Day celebration on August 9 at Rietvlei Zoo Farm.

COSMIC Haven is a non-profit organisation based in Johannesburg South, whose vision is “creating a sacred space for individuals as they heal and reconnect with their gifts and authenticity”.

It is upon this cornerstone that they have launched a programme aimed at women.

“While there are a number of important and relevant initiatives to address the empowerment of women, I have come to the realisation that we can no longer simply observe the 16 Days of Activism or Women’s Month without doing something authentic and meaningful,” said the founder of Cosmic Haven, Leola Rammble.

Rammble launched the Power of Self Love Programme in December 2018, which coincided with the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign.

Cosmic Haven will present a Women’s Day celebration on August 9 at Rietvlei Zoo Farm, 101 Swartkoppies Road, Johannesburg South, at 8.30am.

This is an event with a difference as this non-profit has decided to host a gender-inclusive programme, where men will have an opportunity to learn about issues affecting women from men’s perspective.

The schedule for the day includes a mindful group nature walk, meditations, inspirational talks from renowned guest speakers, interactive group talks for men and women, yoga, card readings and age-based activities for the children.

Tickets are priced at R200 per adult, R100 for children ages eight to 18, with children under eight, free.

The price includes lunch, the entry fee and access to participate in the events.

For the always-need-to-snack person, there will also be food stalls available.

Should you be interested in a card reading, you can also pre-purchase a 30-minute reading at R100. Empowerment apparel will also be on sale on the day.
