WATCH: Angry protesters shut down Bellavista,Turffontein

Protesters want Ward 55 councillor, Rashieda Landis, out.

Bellavista and Turffontein residents took their frustrations to the streets on Tuesday morning, April 23 to block roads with burning tyres.

According to residents, the reason for them to protest is that they don’t want ward 55 Clr Rashieda Landis, they want to be accommodated in the new flats and they need jobs especially in the new court.

Residents demand DA ward councillor Rashieda Landis step down as councillor for the area due to the lack of service delivery in the area.

SAPS went to fetch Clr Rashieda Landis to address the angry protesters.

JMPD and SAPS officers are monitoring the situation.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
