THE fourth edition of Checkers Market Day was a resounding success with community food gardens being hosted at selected Checkers stores across South Africa.

Boikanyo Foundation’s garden sold their produce at Checkers Glenvista on April 4. This was also an excellent opportunity to support small-scale food gardens that provide sustainable nourishment and income opportunities for vulnerable communities across the country.

Boikanyo Foundation is a registered NPO that seeks to alleviate poverty holistically through food security and social upliftment programmes. It participated in the Checkers Market Day making the most of the opportunity to sell their products and market themselves to a larger potential customer base, Checkers shoppers.
