Tyrone Camacho said his mother, Sparky (81), came to his room to inform him about the fire after the noise from dogs and neighbours.

“I quickly woke up my sister, Veronica, and we took as many pets as possible to safety. We all tried to extinguish the blaze but it was too strong for us.

“Everything is gone, we have nothing. The fire destroyed our home and one dog perished in fire.

“We appeal to the community to please help us. We need pet food, food, clothes and to build our home because it has been destroyed, so anything we will appreciate,” he said.
