School receives donation from foundation

The school and the therapists at the school welcomed the kind gesture from the foundation.

BISHOP Mosa Sono Foundation donated 12 hearing aids and funds for wheelchairs to Francis Vorwerg School.

The school and the therapists at the school welcomed the kind gesture from the foundation. They have already fitted seven hearings aids to different children who needed their aids replaced, bought eight wheelchairs, including one powered wheelchair, and fitted one backrest to a wheelchair.

Occupational therapist Elaine Berner said this donation helped a lot as some of the learners didn’t have wheelchairs at home.

“Wheelchairs are not just a once-off, they need repairs or they get worn out. Children outgrow them and eventually a new one will be required,” she said.

Clementine Phale from Heartronix said she approached the foundation to help the school with hearing aids.
