Educating learners on bullying

Atlas said schools are welcome to invite him to have a session with their learners.

MPHO ‘Atlas’ Sebokgoe from South of Johannesburg encourages everyone, especially learners through his school activations, to stop bullying.

This ambassador for Anti-Bullying SA works with the basic education department to spread the word in schools through his music. He is also a founder of an NGO called Brother’z Keeper Foundation which he uses to reach out to the learners.

“The aim of these school activations to learners is to motivate, educate and show them how to conduct themselves in society. I encourage young boys to behave themselves so they can be better men in the future.

“We also inspire girls to be better citizens. We talk more about substance abuse and women empowerment. Bullying is also a problem in schools and we tried to make learners aware of it,” he said.

This hip-hop artist is about to release his new album, The Frontier. Through this album, which will be released early next year, he plans to further educate the learners about the importance of life and highlighting social ills in the community.

“We are planning to start early next year with the schools where we will be doing a national tour. It saddens me when we do these activations to see poverty and hunger in some of the learners. That is why I always appeal to the sponsors and donors to walk with us on this journey, support us. Learners are affected by poverty, we need to empower them, not only mentally but also give them food, stationery and uniforms,” explained Atlas.

He said the schools are welcome to invite him to have a session with their learners. He can be found on Facebook: Anointed Atlas, Twitter: @ AnointedAtlas, Instagram: @anointed_atlas or at 081 514 0674.
