Sassa message circulating about submission of money and grocery grant is false

“Residents must not entertain the false Sassa message doing rounds calling the community to submit money and fill in a form in order to receive a grocery grant,” Landis said.

WARD 55 councillor Rashieda Landis is warning residents that there is no such thing as a Sassa grocery grant.

“Residents must not entertain the false Sassa message doing rounds calling the community to submit money and fill in a form in order to receive a grocery grant,” Landis said.

“These false messages and application forms are believed to be sent via a Gmail account. I took the liberty to go to the Sassa offices to consult with the officials to confirm the scam. I would like to make all residents aware of this scam and would also like to urge them not to pay money over or submit any forms,” Landis said.

The councillor went on to say as the festive season nears, people will be coming up with different methods to rob the poor.

“Please be careful. Do not fall for such scams and always verify information for clarity,” she added.
