Viva’s Spin-a-thon helps Epic Foundation

Participants were asked to bring along dresses they no longer use, to be collected for the Fairy Godmother Project to help girls who cannot afford matric dance dresses.

VIVA Gym Oakdene recently hosted a charity event called the Colour Splash Spin-a-thon where a four-hour spinning marathon class was held, and dresses for the Epic Foundation’s Fairy Godmother Project were collected.

The event started at 8am, lasting until noon with short breaks in between for participants of the spinning class. Participants were asked to bring along dresses they no longer use, to be collected for the Fairy Godmother Project to help girls who cannot afford matric dance dresses.

FRIENDS AND ASSOCIATES: Tumi Magashule (manager of Placecol The Glen), Sello Kgopa (personal trainer at Viva Gym Oakdene), Zippora Mashilo (life coach) and Ayanda Ndlovu (Herbalife sales representative).

The organiser of the charity event, and personal trainer at Viva Gym, Sello Kgopa, believes that one must always be ready to give a helping hand. He said: “There are often charity events like this happening here because it’s important to be kind and give back to those in need.”

Sello supports the Epic Foundation, and 10 per cent of his clients’ fees go toward this organisation. He is already planning the next charity event in aid of Epic.

The next event will take place on October 27 at the Epic Foundation’s premise, 406 Southern Klipriviersberg Road, Steeledale. It will be an aerobics marathon called Give a Helping Hand.

SPINNING FOR CHARITY: Sello Kgopa fights through a four-hour spinning marathon with the participants. Wow!

Participants are asked to please bring any donations for underprivileged girls, such as toiletries, clothes, handbags or funds. If you are interested in participating in this cause, please contact Sello on 060 639 7690 or vivagym1@gmail.com
