Reading golf ladies donate to SPCA

“We certainly hope our donation will go a long way in helping our four-legged friends get the care they so deserve.”

ALBERTON SPCA has been blessed with R25 000 from Reading Country Club’s Ladies Golf Section, which they raised during their annual Charity Golf Day at Reading Country Club.

In addition to this wonderful monetary donation, the ladies golf section is sponsoring two kennels for the coming year.

Captain Shelley Daymond explained the ladies golf section has been hosting this Charity Golf Day since 2006 and they’ve been supporting various charities in the community throughout the years.

“It’s been a privilege to support the Alberton SPCA this year. We certainly hope our donation will go a long way toward helping our four-legged friends get the care they so deserve.”

Alberton SPCA receives no government funding, therefore, they’re entirely reliant on the local community to support their mission of preventing cruelty to animals. Kingstone Siziba, manager and senior inspector, said: “We are so grateful to these ladies for thinking of us and raising such a large amount of money for our animals. Without donations, we cannot continue with our work in helping those who cannot speak for themselves.”

Want to help the SPCA too? You can sponsor a kennel or the cattery for R110 per month. For more details contact their office on 011 907 1568, visit their premises at Lincoln Road, General Alberts Park, or pop an email to admin@spcaalberton.org.za
