Sam Retief, Top 25 Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa

Sam Retief said she was elated and leapt with great joy and excitement when her name was announced as a Top 25 Tammy Taylor Mrs SA title holder.

SAM Retief from Eye of Africa was recently announced as one of the Top 25 Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa pageant at a charity ball dinner in aid of Women4Women held at Emperors Palace.

While this annual event has earned an honourable reputation for raising copious amounts of money for the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) each year, it is also always a glamorous affair and the perfect opportunity for guests to dust off their glass slippers and be treated to a delectable dinner while viewing a seamless stage production.

This was an important occasion on the Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa calendar, as the top 100 semi-finalists, announced four months ago, pinnacled their journey of workshops, networking, judging and rehearsing when the announcement of the final top 25 was made at the dinner.

Sam Retief said she was elated and leapt with great joy and excitement when her name was announced as a Top 25 Tammy Taylor Mrs SA title holder.

“I am so excited and grateful to have been given this once in a lifetime transformative opportunity. It’s an MBA of life. This platform will help me to inspire hope in my community and to become and continue being a catalyst and voice for change through, education, and impact-driven and sustainable projects.

“I believe you grow by taking others with you and this journey has truly taught me the power of believing in yourself, breaking through your own limitation and becoming the best version in the design God has for your life. My husband and my daughters have been my greatest source of support and fuel in pursuit of my purpose and vision, I love and adore them so much. Thank you to my extended family, congregation, friends and community who have truly shown me the spirit of ubuntu. I’m reminded that if you want to walk fast, walk alone, but if you want to walk far, walk together. There are power and blessing in unity. Thank you to our amazing judges and remarkable sponsors and phenomenal management team of Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa for your confidence in me,” she said.

The top 25 finalists will now embark on a journey of fund-raising, networking and self-development until the final round of judging, to name the Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa 2019.

SABC 3 will broadcast content featuring the top 25 finalists, as well as the crowning of Mrs South Africa 2019, taking place at Emperors Palace on November 9 and will air on November 10 at 6.30pm. The title winner will represent the country internationally at the Mrs World pageant.
