IN the early hours of Sunday morning, August 5, Fox Security’s control room received an alarm from a business on Swartkoppies Road close to Mall of the South.
Reaction units responded swiftly to the premises. Upon arrival they spotted two suspects busy breaking into the premises. Reaction units approached them when one of the suspects opened fire on one of their units. Officers returned fire injuring one of the suspects and the other suspect managed to flee into the bushes.
One suspect was apprehended with three gunshot wounds. They also found a firearm together with several break-in implements.
The suspect was taken to hospital under police guard.
