ROYAL Schools Sky City learners participated in a social project to collect pet food for animals in the care of the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) as part of their 67 Minutes for Mandela initiative.
The school had been managing the project throughout the whole of the second term to ensure they received the most donations for the animals.
“We had to do a social project as a school, split up into phases and the foundation phase chose the AACL as it is an important life skill for the little ones to know how to treat and love animals of all types. We asked the parents to send us dog and cat food as well as other products for this project,” said Lizelle Wilkinson, the project co-ordinator.
The project has been a huge success as the school managed to collect a lot of animal-related products, as well as spending more than 67 minutes in doing random acts of kindness towards animals.
