McCarthy Ford the Glen assists SARAC

The initiative to support SARAC is ongoing and members of the community should show their support.

MCCARTHY Ford the Glen has taken up an initiative to assist the Soweto Animal Rescue and Advisory Centre (SARAC) with dog and cat food.

The initiative comes as one of the several projects that the organisation is involved in to support the community.

“I was looking for a charity organisation to sponsor and most of the charities that came up were children’s homes. “However, after seeing a Facebook post on SARAC, I decided it would be a worthwhile initiative to donate towards this organisation,” said McCarthy Ford the Glen sales manager Claire van der Merwe.

McCarthy Ford the Glen has since put out a box at their offices where clients and service providers have been donating different food and material for the organisation.

“We are continuing with this initiative to support SARAC and we have also shared it with our communities around the South so I believe more people will chirp in all ways possible to ensure SARAC receives great support,” she added.

SARAC was started by Jerry Selwane in November 2011 with a commitment to rehabilitating and rehoming abandoned animals.

Members of the community willing to contribute towards a good cause should donate any dog or cat food, collars and leashes as well as cleaning materials for the kennels.

Donations can be dropped off at the dealership or email clairvd@mcmotor.co.za for more information.
