Annual church fête for charity

Over the years the church has been involved in different activities to assist the needy.

THE Dutch Reformed Church will be holding their annual fête at 62 Victoria Street on August 4 with the aim to raise funds and goods to help the needy around the community.

Over the years the church has been involved in different church activities to assist the community, including the touch-up and renovation of the Lighthouse Disability Centre and a few soup kitchen days at the South Rand hospital.

However, to continue with its social responsibility to the community, the church seeks financial assistance from individuals and organisations.

“Our members donate their abilities but being a small group we need assistance from outside organisations and businesses to enable us to continue with our projects,” said Leandi van der Merwe, the organiser of the fête.

Among some requirements for the church fête are ingredients for the different stalls to be set up, including the vetkoek and mince stall, beverage table, pancake table, boerewors rolls, as well as the white elephant table for any items that the public do not use anymore.

For more information contact Leandi van der Merwe on 082 8573863 or Petro Pieterse on 072 421 8781 or 011 683 8584.
