THE Believers Care Society (BCS) is currently open for the intake of unemployed and unskilled youth into the second quarter of its youth development programme which starts on July 30.

Youth who are interested in skills development are assessed by the organisation, given career guidance and a development plan is created for them in accordance with the skills they need. They are then placed on skills training courses aligned with their personal development plan. The courses are SAQA aligned and accredited with the respective SETAs.

Courses include computer literacy, computerised bookkeeping/pastel accounting, a call centre course, project management and administration. The courses run for either three or six months respectively and attendance is five hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The programme aims to equip youth with educational courses, leadership skills, moral and character development and a positive outlook on life. BCS aims to create social changers who go out into the community and not only improve on themselves, but also share what they have learned with their communities. This is done by placing the youth in community services of their fields of interest as a part of the course.

Participants must be between 17 and 35 years of age, living in the South of Johannesburg, have a matric or equivalent and be willing to complete the free course. Only applicants who are unemployed and unskilled will be considered.
