Self-defence lessons for Linmeyer Domestic Watch

Self-defence skills are a key priority for the community.

A DOMESTIC watch meeting was recently held at Linhill Football Club where Fidelity ADT was also present to speak on non-confrontational ways to protect domestic workers while at work.

Fidelity ADT representatives Linda Reeder and Innocent Dube also showed members practical ways on how to defend themselves, children and the elderly in their care in case of a robbery or any form of attack.

Participants were advised to avoid confrontation, walking alone in dark areas as well as using unfamiliar shortcuts when going home.

According to Reeder, attackers are usually under the influence of drugs and alcohol hence the best reason to avoid confrontations with them.

She said self-defence skills that were demonstrated and also discussed at the meeting were key in every individual’s life.
