WATCH: Waterstone College bids farewell to principal

Mr Ridgway's support and love for Waterstone College epitomised the ethos of the school.

WATERSTONE College students and staff members bid farewell to their principal, Matthew Ridgway, who has been with the school since 2015.

Matthew will be taking up a post in the Eastern Cape to be with his family.

His departure is a great loss for Waterstone College and he will be missed by the entire Waterstone family.

“There are many characteristics that stand out when describing Mr Ridgway. His impeccable use of the English language, his love and understanding for technology, his calm, measured approach to managing difficult situations, his love for his learners, but most of all his commitment to being an example to all and testament to his faith,” said Waterstone College marketing manager Shandene Hinkley.

He spent many hours on the side of the sports fields watching as his family of learners showcased their talent.

“His support and love for Waterstone College epitomised the ethos of the school as he exemplified each element F.I.R.E (Faith, Integrity, Respect and Excellence),” she added.

Matthew was a well-renowned source of inspiration and motivation to many and the school remains grateful for his leadership and his valuable contribution to Waterstone College.
