Marist Brothers Linmeyer staff member remembered with love

“We know how much she was loved by her family and we offer our sincere condolences to them all,” said staff at the school.

MARIST Brothers Linmeyer was shocked and saddened to hear of the death of much-loved staff member Phumzile Madonsela who died on June 16.

Phumzile joined the school in 2012 as a Zulu teacher in the primary school and quickly endeared herself to learners, parents and staff alike through her passion, commitment and love for teaching. She was a vastly experienced teacher and respected member in her subject cluster group.

A quiet unassuming soul, Phumzile cared deeply for all her learners. She developed and grew the Zulu department to a point where the Grade Fours of 2019 will now have the choice to make Zulu their additional language of choice.

Phumzile always had a kind word to say and lived her life with humility and grace. It was evident to see that her faith was important to her and was the driving force in her life. This special teacher crept into the hearts of so many and her legacy will live on at Marist Brothers Linmeyer.

Phumzile loved her family immensely and spoke with pride about her children’s achievements.

“We know how much she was loved by her family and we offer our sincere condolences to them all,” said staff at the school. “We believe Phumzile is with her Heavenly Father and know that she is happy and rejoicing. We will miss her tremendously and she will always be a member of our Marist community,” they added.
