The streetlights are also expected to be ready in a week.

NEW traffic lights are being installed at the junction of Impala and Springbok streets in Mayfield Park to reduce congestion in the area.

The streetlights are also expected to be ready in a week.

This development comes as the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD), Land Use Management, JHB Water, City Power, Building Control, Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA), Johannesburg Property Company (JPC), Department of Health and the City of Johannesburg’s Citizen Relationship and Urban Management (CRUM) recently held a joint service delivery tour to inspect faults in different wards.

“We had an oversight tour with the region F people and officials so that they could see the hotspots that need intervention throughout the city, including sites of illegal dumping at the corner of True North Road and Kliprivier Drive,” said Ward 23 councillor Sarah Wissler.

ALMOST DONE: Work in progress for the new traffic lights at the intersection of Impala and Springbok streets in Mayfield Park.

The tour was a success as officials were made aware of the challenges facing different wards in Region F.

The team also fixed some areas that needed attention, including a manhole cover that was stolen along Bellairs Drive and will be proceeding to other areas around the city.
