School bag stolen after car break-in at The Glen

The learner has been left stranded with no notes as exams begin on Monday.

AN Abbotts College matric learner, Rethabile Dithuge, has been left stranded with no notes to study for exams after thieves broke into her mother’s car and stole her school bag last Friday at The Glen shopping centre.

The family is seeking public assistance with any information on the school bag as they suspect the thieves would have dumped it somewhere close after noticing it was just a school bag with no valuable items or money in it.

According to Rithabile’s father, Abram Dithuge, the car was broken into while parked in front of Burger King around 7pm.

“We do not care about anything else but that which was in that bag. I know the thieves can sell the textbooks but we are appealing to them to bring back the bag as it contained important yearly notes that Rethabile should be using at school,” he said.

“She has been left stranded with no notes and the most unfortunate thing is that her exams begin this coming Monday.”

The family has since opened a case of theft at the Mondeor Police Station and they have also asked the public to contact them on 0815 293 7967 in case of a recovered school bag or the notes.
