New first-aid kits for CPF and VSU

The Mulbarton community forum handed over first-aid kits and a chainsaw to the CPF and SAPS.

TEN first-aid kits and a chainsaw were handed over to the Mondeor Sector One Community Policing Forum (CPF) and to the Mondeor SAPS on March 1.
The handover took place at Belem Cafe & Restaurant on Vorster Avenue in Glenanda. Mike Fontes from Mondeor Sector One CPF as well as the communications officer at SAPS, Captain Nokulunga Dube, were the recipients of the kits and the chainsaw. SAPS took two first-aid kits for the Victim Support Unit (VSU) in Mondeor.

Iain Sherwood and Werner De Villiers from the Mulbarton Community Forum (MCF) spoke to the CHRONICLE and explained that funds raised by the MCF was used to donate the equipment needed to the Mondeor Sector 1 CPF.

“The CPF requested first-aid kits and a chainsaw and so we used the money raised to purchase these for the teams,” said Sherwood.

Residents can check out their website https://www.mulbartoncommunityforum.co.za/ for more information as to what the MCF does and how they can get involved and help out.
“The chainsaw is for the trees that may be falling in the South or are causing obstructions. CPF patrollers are usually the first people to respond to an emergency and they need the first-aid kits. Last year we were privileged to be able to donate over 600 books to the Glenanda library, piles of dog food to the AACL and some warm clothing and blankets to the less fortunate. We also host a SANBS blood donor drive on a 58 day cycle at the st Paul’s church and with the help of the Mulbarton community we hope to be able to continue,” said De Villiers.
