Having young children can make mornings slightly stressful and hectic. Here are some tips to help make your morning routine go smoother.
- Prepare the evening before, as much as you can. Organise what clothes your little one will be wearing and get it out and ready. Try and prepare snacks and a sandwich with a healthy filling, nothing messy though and put it in a lunchbox in the fridge overnight. Some children find it hard to eat early, so they will be able to enjoy a light snack on their way to crèche or playschool.
- Make sure during the week you set and enforce bedtimes so everyone gets plenty of rest.
- Get up before your children wake up. This way you can enjoy a cup of coffee and get yourself showered and dressed without distractions.
- Play some music they like in the background, you’ll find it will give them some get up and go energy.
- Leave earlier so you aren’t bustling them into the car. Little children need more time in the morning to get organised and this way you won’t be rushing in peak hour traffic and feeling agitated. Little children soon pick up on your mood and will feel grumpy and miserable too.
- When you drop them off, take them inside, give them a hug and tell them you love them and you’ll see them soon, and leave. Don’t delay the goodbye, some children find it hard saying goodbye.
Now you can go and enjoy the rest of your day.
